We are looking for an experienced Food Services Attendant 

to join our friendly kitchen team!  

Casual 

$31.21 p/hour (inclusive of 25% leave loading) + 11.5% Superannuation

+ Not for profit salary packaging

About the role ... 

A key function of the role is to work as part of the team, contributing to creating a home for our Elders, providing the required attention to food service delivery, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.  The role also requires  taking part in accreditation, WHS & Infection control programs and complying with MiCare's Food Safety program and relevant legislation. 

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include ...

• Maintaining an Incident / accident free work environment
• Maintaining Elder satisfaction in relation to food services
• Ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Presenting meals in an appealing and timely fashion  
• Being aware of Work Health and Safety requirements and reporting hazards or issues of concern
• Being aware of emergency procedures and location of evacuation exits and equipment
• Assisting in the maintenance of a clean, hazard free work environment
• Following workplace procedures for accident incident reporting

About you ... 

You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude.  You will have a preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.

Qualifications ...

• Certificate in Food handling/ Food Safety preferred but not essential

 Skills ...

• The ability to work effectively in a culturally sensitive manner within an Ethno-specific environment
• The ability to work with frail and/or confused Elders and their families
• The ability to accept directions and work with minimal supervision    
• The ability to liaise with other staff and act as part of a team dedicated to providing quality care to our Elders 
• A sound understanding of the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
• Demonstrated computer skills 
• The ability to effectively use software and systems required for the position 
• The ability to work with the 10 Principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy
• A demonstrated commitment to personal development
• A flexible, caring and patient attitude
• A positive and innovative approach to the provision of Aged Care
• Attention to detail with all tasks.
• Food handling experience preferred but not essential

A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.

A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
