Care Manager
Full Time - Birkdale

About the role

 

We are looking for a Care Manager that is a dynamic and influential leader.  This pivotal position will support the delivery of high quality, person-centred clinical and care services.

 

Working alongside the Facility Manager, the successful incumbent will have responsibility driving excellence in customer experience, clinical governance, compliance, and quality outcomes in line with the Strengthened Aged Care Standards.


The Care Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team and set the tone for compassionate,
culturally sensitive, and consumer-focused care. The role requires a proactive, flexible and
resourceful professional with up-to-date clinical knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, and
a commitment to continuous improvement.  Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Ensuring needs of all stakeholders are met, especially those of the Elders
  • Ensure resident care and services is consistent with the Aged Care Quality
    Standards and where this is not the case involve the multidisciplinary team to
    formulate and recommend interventions.
  • Lead the team in achieving and maintaining accreditation standards and
    requirements.
  • Mentor, supervise and educate staff ensuring quality services are delivered to
    residents.
  • Maximise funding opportunities.
  • Ensure clinical governance is current and oversee/implement clinical care needs and
    systems
  • Develop and review organisational policies and procedures to ensure it reflects
    contemporary requirements.
  • Lead the analysis and assessment of incidents, complaints, risks or issues that arise

Qualifications 

  • Registered Nurse Div 1 registered with the Australian Health Practitioner
    Registration Agency.
  • Formal qualifications in management or a health-related discipline, or business
    experience highly regarded

 

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in Aged Care Management
  • Broad clinical background as a Registered Nurse with experience in Aged Care and
    Residential Care
  • Long standing experience in a senior role that has included staff supervision and
    program management
  • Is able to effectively lead a team and prioritise a substantial workload in order to
    achieve clinical outcomes
  • Is self-motivated in relation to professional and career development opportunities
  • Can lead others to achieve desired client care outcomes
  • Shows sound judgement and responds quickly and effectively to issues including
    Human Resource, client complaints and serious incidents
