The Role

The Registered Nurse will support the Clinical Care Coordinator, Care Manager, the Facility manager and staff of the designated areas in quality outcome for frail elderly persons.  The position will support, implement and oversee the care process, i.e. Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation of elder’s clinical care, utilizing a holistic approach. Refer to Facility Manager and Clinical Care Coordinator any areas of concern related to clinical matters

Responsibilities

• Quality care as per the care plan and legal requirements.
• To provide a service that meets the needs of Elders and the organisation
• To deliver care, which is appropriate, of a high standard within established guidelines and procedures.
• To maintain a high level of clinical expertise and act as a resource for all staff of the facility including training of staff involved in the trainee program.
• To assist and work collaboratively with the General Manager Residential Services, the Facility Manager, Care Managers, Clinical Care Coordinators and Universal workers.
• Ensuring that elder's physical health is maintained at the highest possible
  level
• Ensure that families are fully informed about their relativeʼs care
• Manage and direct the care in day-to-day activities for the elders
• Adhere to Health and Safety legislation, Policy and Procedures
• Maintaining appropriate documentation
• Medication management and administration
• Provide leadership in accordance to the Eden philosophy of care
• To participate in the accreditation, OH&S and Infection Control programs within the Unit with a focus on customers’ needs.

What We’re Looking For

• • Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Current practicing certificate with the AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency) 
  • Clinical skills
  • Mentoring of staff
  • Experience working with persons living with dementia preferred
  • Experience in pain management, palliative care desirable
