About the Role

 

Reporting to the General Manager, Residential Services, the Manager, Residential Services provides senior strategic and operational leadership across MiCare’s Residential portfolio, overseeing four residential homes (three in Victoria and one in Queensland). This role ensures residential services are safe, compliant, financially sustainable, and firmly centred on residents, families and multicultural communities. As a member of the MiCare Leadership Team, you will model values-based leadership and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture aligned with MiCare’s values of Empathy, Trust, Flexibility, Harmony and Empowerment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Operational Leadership

  • Provide senior operational oversight and leadership to Facility Managers across all residential services.
  • Translate organisational strategy, legislative requirements and quality standards into effective, consistent site-level operations.
  • Drive performance across resident experience, occupancy, AN-ACC optimisation, budgets and continuous improvement.

Quality, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all aged care legislation, Strengthened Quality Standards, SIRS, WHS and privacy requirements.
  • Oversee incident management, complaints, risk mitigation and corrective actions, acting as escalation point for complex matters.
  • Monitor audit outcomes and quality data, ensuring timely closure of internal and external audit actions.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Oversee facility-level financial performance, including budgets, expenditure, occupancy and funding utilisation.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, supporting corrective action to maintain financial sustainability.
  • Use data and insights to inform forecasting, planning and decision-making.

Workforce Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, coach and develop Facility Managers, building leadership capability, accountability and confidence.
  • Embed a high-performance, values-led culture aligned with MiCare’s Eden Alternative philosophy and person-directed care.
  • Partner with People Services on workforce planning, wellbeing, performance management and complex workforce matters.

 

About You

 

You’re an experienced residential aged care leader who brings both clinical expertise and strong operational judgement. You’re comfortable leading across multiple sites and know how to balance quality, compliance and financial sustainability without losing sight of what matters most residents and their families.

  • You’re a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and a solid grounding in contemporary aged care practice.
  • You’ve spent 7+ years in Facility Manager or senior leadership roles, with hands-on experience overseeing multiple residential services.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of aged care legislation, accreditation and funding, including AN-ACC, SIRS and the Strengthened Quality Standards — and know how to translate these into practical, site-level outcomes.
  • You’re confident managing budgets, audits and performance improvement, using data to drive better outcomes.
  • You lead with clarity, resilience and empathy, and are known for your ability to coach, support and hold leaders to account.
