About the role Your new career at MiCare starts here as, Team Leader - In Home Support where you will be responsible and accountable for the leadership, delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality in-home services for all Home Care Packages (HCP) and Commonwealth, Home Support Program (CHSP), with some Veteran Home Care (VHC) funded services. Reporting to the Manager, In Home Support, this position ensure that elders receive care and support that is responsive to their needs, culturally appropriate, and aligned with best practice standards and aged care reforms. The position plays a critical role in driving operational performance, enabling business growth, supporting workforce development, and leading change management initiatives across the service. What you will do In this leadership role, you will play a key part in shaping a high-performing, values-led team. You’ll provide day-to-day guidance and strategic support to your team while fostering a culture of empowerment, growth, and excellence. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading, mentoring, and supporting your team across all stages of the employee lifecycle
- Setting clear expectations and modelling MiCare’s values to build a positive, high-performance team culture.
- Identifying training needs and implementing programs to ensure staff are skilled, confident, and capable in their roles.
- Coaching and developing team members to grow professionally and make informed decisions within their areas of expertise.
- Acting as a trusted leader and role model, sharing your expertise and guiding practice to support quality outcomes.
- Translating MiCare’s Strategic Plan into actionable goals and supporting your team to bring these to life in their work.
About you You are an experienced and values-driven leader with a strong background in aged care, community services, or a related human services field. You bring deep knowledge of the Home Care Package program and a clear understanding of the upcoming 'Support at Home' reforms. With a commitment to person-centred, culturally sensitive care, you are passionate about supporting older people to live well, with dignity and independence. You’ll bring to the role: - Proven leadership experience in community aged care, with a focus on service delivery, performance, and people development
- A sound understanding of consumer-directed care, wellness and reablement
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong skills in planning, change management, budgeting, risk oversight, and reporting
- The ability to work effectively in dynamic and evolving environments
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with high levels of self-awareness, resilience, and cultural sensitivity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems
