The Role MiCare delivers a range of aged services for elderly people of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Background. Social Support Group is funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), with the aim to assist frail, older people to participate in community life and feel socially included through structured, group-based activities that develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction. Key Result Areas - Applying person centred, wellness and reablement approach to plan, organize and
deliver activities to the group in order to provide social interaction for the participants. - Support clients in developing and reviewing their goals in their care plan. Empowering them to live in community independently.
- Most of our clients are from CALD background, speaking a language same as the participants will provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to them.
What We’re Looking For Qualifications - Certificate III in Aged Care
Experience - Experience in organising group activities and excursion for seniors
- Knowledge of community aged care services and good understanding of Aged Care
Quality Standards - Demonstrated experience in working with seniors, frail and/or dementia clients and
their families - Proven ability to work with a team and display flexibility when responding to client
requirements - Experience developing programs that are both practical and person-centred
Essential skills - Demonstrated experience and skills in driving 12 seater buses would be advantageous
- The ability to work independently
- The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment.
- A preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.
- Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude.
