About the role ... We are looking for a Registered Nurse to provide high levels of clinical care to our elders who live at our Carrum Downs Residential Facility. The Registered Nurse will ensure that elder care needs are achieved in accordance with care plans through ongoing assessment, planning implementation, evaluation and documentation, utilizing a holistic approach and refer any areas of concern related to clinical matters.
The successful incumbent will work as part of the broader team of Registered Nurses to ably support the Care Manager and Facility Manager to supervise Universal Workers and Enrolled Nurses with mentoring or oversight. Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that elder's physical health is maintained at the highest possible level
- Ensure that families are fully informed about their relativeʼs care
- Manage and direct the care in day to day activities for the elders
- Adhere to Health and Safety legislation, Policy and Procedures
- Maintaining appropriate documentation
- Medication management and administration
- Provide leadership in accordance to the Eden philosophy of care
About you ... You will have strong communication skills with a flexible, caring, patient attitude and collaborative approach in your practice as a Registered Nurse. Qualifications: - Registered Nurse Division 1
- Current practicing certificate with the AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency)
- Post graduate evidence of formal education
- Demonstrated ongoing education and personal development.
Skills - An ability to work with persons living with dementia
- Experience in pain management, palliative care
- Experience in pain management, palliative care
- Ability to mentor staff, and act as a resource in regards to clinical issues
- Ability to maintain clinical requirements by checking charts, care plans
- The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment
- The ability to work with frail and/or confused elders and their families within the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
- The ability to accept and give direction and to work with minimal supervision
A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current influenza and full COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.
