Seeking an experienced Food Services Attendant passionate about providing appetizing food to reflect elder preferences!  

Permanent part time

20 hours per fortnight

Work 2 days per week

Friday and Saturday 

$24.97 p/hr + 11.5% Superannuation

About the role ... 

The Food Service QLD Team Leader will provide exceptional customer service to elders in residential aged care by coordinating and developing effective services to ensure food is appetizing and reflects the Elders’ preferences.  

The position will work in close collaboration with the Chef Team leader and consultant dietician to ensure nutritional needs of elders are met.  Further, the role will supervise and give clear direction to staff ensuring that food service staff's training needs and instructions adhere to standards. 

The Food Service QLD Team Leader will also ensure that the cleanliness of kitchenettes are maintained and that catering supplies are stored in an appropriate manner and in accordance to the relevant regulations.  Experience in a similar position highly advantageous.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include ...

• Maintaining an Incident / accident free work environment
• Maintaining elder satisfaction in relation to food services
• Ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Presenting meals in an appealing and timely fashion 
• Being aware of WHS requirements and reporting hazards or issues of concern
• Assisting in the maintenance of a clean, hazard free work environment

About you ... 

You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude.  You will have a preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy.

Qualifications ...

• Certificate in Food handling / Food Safety preferred but not essential 

Skills ...

• The ability to work effectively in a culturally sensitive manner within
  Ethno-specific environment
• The ability to work with frail and/or confused Elders and their families
• The ability to accept directions and work with minimal supervision
• The ability to liaise with other staff and act as part of a team dedicated
  providing quality care to our Elders
• A sound understanding of the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
• Demonstrated computer skills
• The ability to effectively use software and systems required for the position
• The ability to work with the 10 Principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy
• A demonstrated commitment to personal development
• A flexible, caring and patient attitude
• A positive and innovative approach to the provision of Aged Care

A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.

A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
