We are looking for an energic Assistant in Nursing

to join our friendly team in sunny Birkdale


New graduates and Nursing students encouraged to apply

 

Permanent part time positions available
Min 16 hours per fortnight guaranteed
up to a maximum of full time hours
We have lots of 4hr Float Shifts 

Morning: 0630hrs to 1030 hrs

Afternoon: 1400hrs to 1800hrs + 1600hrs to 2000hrs 

Night Duty

 

$31.24 - $32.04 p/hr + Penalties (depending on skills/experience)
+ 11.5% Superannuation + Not for profit packaging

About the role ...


We are looking for an energetic Assistant in Nursing who thrives on
supporting older persons with daily living at our state of the art residential
aged care facility in Birkdale.


The successful incumbent will be motivated, flexible and able to coordinate
with strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative approach to quality
service delivery. The role requires a person who is skillful in the current
knowledge, practice and management of all aspects of day to day
responsibilities and thrives on assisting Elders with activities of daily living.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with bathing, grooming and getting dressed
  • Handling household tasks like groceries, shopping and laundry
  • Preparing and serving meals at the appropriate time
  • Providing mental and emotional support
  • Making recommendations to family members and healthcare personnel on the plan of care
  • Organising suitable recreational activities for our Elders
  • Collaborating with other health care and social care professionals to provide the best possible care 

About you ...

 

You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a
professional and proficient manner.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum Cert III (Aged Care)
  • Studying Nursing Diploma or Bachelors Degree 
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates

Skills

  • The ability to work with frail and/or confused elders and their families
    within the Accreditation Standards and funding guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of the aging process and the ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to accept direction and to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • The ability or willingness to speak or learn Dutch/Spanish and an understanding of the Dutch/Spanish culture history will be highly regarded
  • The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment
  • A flexible, caring and patient attitude
  • A basic knowledge of Work Health and Safety procedures

 

 A police check with no disclosable outcomes, current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.


A commitment to work exclusively with MiCare Residential Aged Care
facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
