The Role We are seeking a Maintenance Officer to support the ongoing upkeep of our residential aged care facility and retirement living village. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and takes satisfaction in maintaining a high-quality living environment for residents. The Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely upkeep of all buildings, grounds, plant, and equipment across the aged care facility and retirement village. The role supports quality of life for residents by providing a well‑maintained, safe, and comfortable environment in accordance with legislative requirements, organisational policies, and best practice standards. What We’re Looking For: - Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance across the facility and independent living units.
- Assist residents with minor approved maintenance tasks.
- Complete work orders through the maintenance management system.
- Support unit refurbishments and resident admissions/vacates.
- Ensure WHS compliance and safe work practices.
- Provide friendly, respectful service to residents and visitors.
Key Selection Criteria Qualifications A certificate level (or higher) or Trade relevant to building and grounds maintenance preferred by not essential. Essential skills - Demonstrated knowledge of general maintenance activities and relevant equipment
- Working understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements relating to general maintenance tasks and use of equipment. The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment.
- Ability to carry out minor building maintenance and repair work
- Ability to accept directions and provide timely and constructive advice
- Work according to a determined work schedule & other maintenance requests
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude.
Desirable - Previous experience in this capacity in a residential service
- Demonstrated computer & technology skills
- The ability to speak another language and an understanding of other cultures and history preferred but not essential.
