The Role The Procurement Manager provides leadership, vision, direction and structure to the procurement function to drive effective, efficient and value-add procurement planning, sourcing and contract management aligned with MiCare’s strategic priorities and business requirements. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for coordinating and assisting relevant managers with sustainable procurement initiatives, coordinating procurement throughout MiCare, implementing and monitoring internal procurement systems, supporting procurement projects across MiCare, providing procurement advice to MiCare staff, negotiating new goods and services supply agreements and renegotiating existing goods and service supply agreements. - Establish supplier agreements based on quality of service and value for money.
- Establish policies and procedures that ensure procurement practices are clearly documented and compliant with all relevant legislation.
- Ensure supplier/contractor compliance to legislation and Aged Care Standards.
- Ensure supplier/contractor agreements are in place and comply with the relevant legislation and Aged Care Standards.
- Liaise with leaders across MiCare to understand their procurement requirements and support the implementation of solutions to achieve these.
- Lead the investigation and implementation of Environmental Sustainability Governance (ESG) practices across MiCare.
- Lead and develop the Procurement Team.
What We’re Looking For Qualifications - Appropriate tertiary qualifications in procurement and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement including contract, purchasing, tendering and competition processes.
Experience - Five plus years experience within the aged care sector in a similar role will be highly regarded.
Essential skills - Ability to educate staff in procurement requirements and associated matters.
- Well-developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including skills in liaison and negotiation.
- Experience in reviewing systems, processes and procedures that implement improvements in procurement.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, time-management and project management skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other areas of the organisation to achieve agreed outcomes – teamwork.
- Demonstrated commitment to EEO, WH&S and Cultural Diversity principles.
- The ability to speak a second language preferably reflecting a migrant group to which the organisation provides or will provide services.
- Proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with attention to detail.
- An understanding of ESG principles.
- Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude.
